New Dress Code Ruling:

On January 15 the Clovis Unified Governing Board accepted the recommendation of student members of the Inter School Council and the administration to end its seasonal restriction on the wearing of shorts by students. Members of the Board, in approving this recommendation, affirmed their continued support for the safety and behavior standards set by the District’s dress code; while agreeing that the area’s mild temperatures and the existing provision for allowing shorts during portions of the school year made this slight revision sensible. All other elements of the District’s dress code remain the same. With the Board’s decision, shorts will be allowed beginning January 21st. Please view the site’s website or contact the site administration for clarification or additional information.

Tomorrow night from 5-7 we will be having a FREE STAR dance, you heard that right, a FREE dance, but there’s a catch... it’s only free for current 8th graders who earned proficient of advanced on any of their STAR tests last spring or any 8th grader who improved by a proficiency level. All 7th graders and non-qualifying 8th graders may purchase a ticket for $5 at lunch today or tomorrow or $7 at the door tomorrow night. Not sure if you qualify? Lists will be posted on office windows and available from your AB teacher. This dance will also have special vendors including Me-N-Ed’s selling pizza for $2/slice, Jamba Juice for $4 and professional photos for only $10. This is the last dance of the school year so come celebrate the kick-off of Spring Break and dance the night away! All students must have their ID card and be in dress code to attend, no exception!

Friday is the big day... all 7th graders interested in taking Leadership as their elective next year MUST have their applications turned in no later than Friday. Applications can be picked up in room 511 or from your counselor. If you want to decide what events happen on campus and help plan them, apply for Leadership and come join the fun!
